The Intayon Festival is a meaningful and heartwarming celebration in Ilocos Sur. The word “Intayon” means “let us go together,” and it beautifully reflects the strong spirit of unity and cooperation among the people. It is more than just an event. It is a symbol of how different towns come together as one family to honor their shared culture and traditions. During the festival, the streets come alive with energetic dances, vibrant costumes, and street dancing performances. Every town proudly showcases something special about their community, including their history, talents, and deep love for their hometown. The lively music, the bright colors, and the joyful cheers of the crowd create an atmosphere filled with excitement and pride. You can truly feel the passion of the Ilocano people in every step of the dance and every beat of the drum. The Intayon Festival is not only about celebration and enjoyment. My Third Quarter Reflection

Image
During the third quarter, I was able to learn more about making webpages using HTML. I already knew some basic tags, but I learned more about using lists, like ordered, unordered, and nested lists. I also learned how to organize information better on a webpage. This helped me understand how webpages are built and how different parts work together. Even though I had some knowledge before, I still faced some problems. Sometimes my code did not work because of small mistakes, like missing tags or wrong placement. Making nested lists was also sometimes confusing. These problems showed me that coding needs patience and careful checking. To fix these problems, I practiced a lot and looked at examples from class. I checked my code carefully and tried different ways to make it work. I also asked for help when I did not understand something. Doing this helped me learn more and improve my coding skills. Moving forward, I will keep practicing HTML and webpage design. I want to try more ideas and ...

Lost in the Colors of Vigan City Fiesta

Image
Today was honestly one of those days I know I’ll remember for a long time. Being in Vigan during the city fiesta felt so special. The streets were full of life, music, and people, and everywhere I looked, something exciting was happening. It didn’t feel like just a normal day, it felt like the whole city was celebrating together. In the picture, you can see dancers performing right in the middle of the road, wearing traditional clothes and waving white handkerchiefs as they moved in sync. Watching them made me feel proud of our culture. The crowd around them was huge, all of them were cheering, smiling, and recording videos. I was doing the same, trying to capture the moment, but at the same time, just enjoying it with my own eyes. As the day went on, the fiesta only got better. There were performances and concerts later, and even if I didn’t see everything, I could hear the music from different places. It made the night feel alive. People were laughing, singing along, just having as m...

Diversity and Uniqueness Held by the Indigenous

Image
Every October, the Philippines celebrates National Indigenous Peoples (IP) Month. This year’s theme, “Weaving Culture, Enriching Future: Empowering Indigenous Communities as Bedrock of Sustainable Development,” reminds us to honor the heart of our nation, the indigenous peoples whose stories, traditions, and way of life make our country special. Communities like the Igorot, T’boli, and Mangyan have kept their culture, crafts, and knowledge of nature for many generations. Their wisdom teaches us how to live in balance with the world. Protecting their traditions is not just about the past, but it is about keeping their spirit alive and inspiring our future. Supporting indigenous peoples means giving them access to education, healthcare, land, and jobs, while respecting their culture. By helping them, we honor their strength and courage. National IP Month is a time to celebrate their voices, their knowledge, and their important role in building a better and fairer future for everyon...

Everything Feeling a Little Lighter

The Christmas season is always a time even when the year has been really tough. School is a lot of work with all the homework, projects, tests and sometimes things are not great at home either. There are days when the Christmas season feels like it is what you need because the rest of the year can be overwhelming. The Christmas season is a time when you can forget about school and problems at home for a while and just have some fun. School can be very hard with many things to do and the Christmas season is a good time to take a break, from all of that. The Christmas season is the time of the year that people look forward to all year long because it's mainly about having fun. When Christmas comes it brings a bit of light and hope into our lives. The Christmas decorations and all the colorful lights twinkle under the moon's gentle shine. We also hear Christmas songs that remind us to slow down and enjoy what is happening. Spending time with our family and our friends is a part of...

The Greatness of Elpidio Quirino

Image
Elpidio Quirino, the 6th president of the Philippines, is someone I truly admire because of his courage and hard work during a very tough time in our country. He became president after World War II, when the Philippines was still trying to recover from destruction and loss. Even with many problems around him, I respect how Quirino did his best to rebuild the nation and bring hope back to the people. I admire him because he focused on helping the economy and improving the lives of ordinary Filipinos. He supported programs that created jobs, helped farmers, and repaired important roads and buildings. He also worked on keeping good relationships with other countries, especially the United States, to gain support for the country’s recovery. For me, his leadership showed that progress was possible even when times were very hard. Elpidio Quirino’s greatness also inspires me because he strongly believed in peace and unity. Even when he faced conflict and rebellion, he still tried to solve pro...

The 2025 National Children’s Month Celebration, with the theme “OSAEC-CSAEM Wakasan: Kaligtasan at Karapatan ng Bata, Ipaglaban!”, reminds us that children must be protected from online abuse and exploitation. Today, many kids use the internet, and this makes them more exposed to danger. This theme encourages everyone to work together to keep children safe, both offline and online . I believe the government is doing important work to protect children’s safety, dignity, and rights. Laws like the Anti-Online Sexual Abuse or Exploitation of Children Act (RA 11930) help catch offenders and stop harmful online content. Agencies like the DSWD, PNP, and DICT also help in rescuing victims and teaching families about safe internet use. I am very grateful that the government continues these efforts because they give children a safer environment to grow and learn. This celebration also reminds us that protecting children is not only the government’s job. Families, schools, and communities must al...
